ARTWORK & DESIGN
We use all the top DTP packages on a daily basis, and our designers can help you create the perfect look based upon your brief. You can arrange time within our studio to sit and go through various options - or if you don't have time for that, you can leave us with some notes and ideas and we will work on an initial proof for you.

If you would like to set your own artwork then please check the packages and types of files we can accept and recommend.
In general as well as being able to accept the files types below, we can use supplied .ps or .pdf files that you can run from any native program. Whenever possible, try to include an area for bleed if the colour images on your job run off the edge of the sheet. In order for them to print correctly you must ensure that all fonts used are embedded in the file, or at very least supplied with the file for us to output. We have a large font database that we hold for both platforms and can usually suggest a font to use for various different types of print.

PC Format

We run the following software versions on our Studio Pc's running XP:

We also can use the following software to produce jobs from, but as these are not standard DTP packages they can cause problems with the conversion into other types of files. If you are unsure, please contact Karen or Mike for further advice.

For supplying images.
We can take images from you as a wide range of file types, some are more suitable for print than others - if you are unsure it is always best to ask. There is nothing worse than sending a job to print only to find it prints blurry etc.
We can take images from a few types of digital camera cards, or directly from your camera via your usb lead, we can also copy from any type of usb drive/floppy disk/cd or dvd or email. Images should be saved as .eps or .tiff or .pdf for the best quality, but we can also use .jpg/.psd or .bmp.
The size of images should be kept to above 300dpi ideally, again - if you are unsure just ask.
